It's never a good idea to cut your own hair.

But maybe somebody should have told that to DJ Chris Moyles.

The Radio 1 presenter made a slip-up with the hair clippers which left him with a tram line down the centre of his rather large head.

The 34-year-old was attempting to tidy his hair with a beard trimmer, but attached the wrong grade to the clippers when he starting cutting.

Now the outspoken DJ  has been left with a bald strip that runs down the middle of his head.

Bald patch: Moyles is wearing a deer stalker hat to cover his crazy hair cut

Now the outspoken DJ  has been left with a bald strip that runs down the middle of his head.

And to cover up his haircut of shame, he's taken to wearing a none-too-trendy deerstalker hat.

Mainly because his girlfriend Sophie threatened to disappear for two weeks if he shaved it all off.

He told listeners today: 'I had a hair accident yesterday - I tried to clip my hair with beard trimmers and it went really wrong.

'I'm now left with a line down the middle of my head with no hair.

'I have very bad hair now - it looks like I've been prepped for surgery.

'It makes me look a bit simple actually, or a bit like Mr.T.

'The rest of my hair is grade two to three, and the strip is grade zero.

'I was going to shave the lot of off but my girlfriend Sophie said I wouldn't see her for two weeks if I did.'

'It looks hair-larious' mocked his radio sidekick Comedy Dave.

Mr T became famous in the 80s when he was part of TV show the  A-Team.

The TV icon was known for his Mohican-style hairdo with hair running down the centre of his head.
