Ronnie Wood's teenage girlfriend has insisted she is in love with the Rolling Stones star despite the huge age gap.

Ekaterina Ivanova has spoken out about her 'electric' relationship with the 61-year-old guitarist saying she didn't care about his age or the fact he is a rock star.

The 19-year-old who is known as Katia, claims the pair share an intense connection and have been texting each other while he is in rehab.

In an interview with the News of the World she said: 'I am in love with Ronnie. I should hope he's in love with me.

'We didn't mean to fall in love. You can't choose who you fall in love with.

'People fall in love despite an age gap. I fancy him because of the person he is.

'I don't think about the age or the fact he's a Rolling Stone.

'It was natural. it just happened. I've never felt more connected to someone.

'It wasn't like kissing a 61-year-old. it was electric. There was a spark.

'His age wasn't important I didn't think about his age as we were kissing. it didn't occur to me.

'No one would understand our relationship. It's really intense, yeah. We are boyfriend and girlfriend.'

Ronnie Woods checked into rehab in Surrey after returning from holiday in Ireland with Katia, at which he reportedly downed two bottles of vodka a day.

His relationship with wife Jo, 53, is said to be at crisis point after his 10-day fling with the teenager at his Co Kildare holiday home.

Katia told the News of the World that the relationship began as an intense friendship after they met at bar in Mayfair and bonded over a mutual love of music and art.

She claims their relationship developed when rock legend invited her to his retreat in Ireland for an 'art holiday' to act as his muse.

The 19-year-old said: 'It was never my intention for anything to happen. It's like when you meet anyone. Ronnie is passionate about music. I love music too.'

She continued: 'I think he liked me because I was never star-struck. I think if I had been it would never have happened'

The cocktail waitress said she was unsure if their relationship would continue after Ronnie leaves rehab.

She said: 'I don't know if there is any future for us.

'I am still in love with Ronnie now but I really don't care about us being lovers.

I just want him to be happy. We were happy in Ireland.'
