Hollywood funnyman Owen Wilson looks as though he's back to his old self as he relaxes on a sunny beach with a mystery lady.

Wilson appeared to be in good spirits as he swam and then strolled along the beach with the pretty woman.

The Starsky and Hutch star looked in good shape and frequently smiled during his spot of outdoor exercise on the California coastline.

The 39-year-old actor could certainly do with some romance after the tumultuous events in his personal life over the last year.

Wilson is alleged to have attempted suicide last summer following his split from Kate Hudson, the daughter of Goldie Hawn.

He was said to have received hospital treatment after reportedly slashing his wrists and taking a cocktail of pills.
