Spot the difference: Robert Redford and his incredible disappearing freckles
Updated 22:43pm on 4 Aug 2008
Acting legend Robert Redford showed off a rather two-tone complexion as he enjoyed a festival in Italy.
The 72-year-old heartthrob revealed an unusually pale face which seemed seemed to be missing a few of his former freckles.
Before and after: Robert Redford, pictured left in Italy yesterday, seems to have lost a freckle or two along the way
Feeling the heat: Robert worked up a sweat in the warm Italian weather
His blue shirt had several buttons open to reveal his hairy chest and sun-kissed neck which contrasted with the actor's smooth white facial skin.
Despite his advancing years Redford looked surprisingly wrinkle-free and sported a full thatch of his trademark red hair.
The actor was at the Tuscan Sun Festival in Arezzo to take part in a concert in which he will read poetry.
His performance will be accompanied by the piano improvisations of esteemed Italian conductor and pianist, Nicola Luisotti.
However, as the star arrived it was clear he was feeling the heat of the Italian sun.
The focus was on his rather unfortunate choice of shirt which clearly showed some huge sweat patches.

i had my first and biggest crush on Robert Redford in the 70s. He was so hot and handsome then and what i find most attractive besides his manly sexy looks was his fur...his broad hairy chest and his thick hairy forearms....i was in fantasy world whenever i see Redford on screen or in magazines.
i wish him well...i'm sure he knows he was the dream sex partner of millions of women and men..

I think it's sunblock. If he's had a deep chemical peel, he can no longer go in the sun without strong protection.
He's not wearing a wig but a toupee. It also looks like he dyes his chesthair because in other photos there is a lot of white, which is normal.
He's not aging gracefully and it's his own fault. He's a very handsome man and I think he would look better if he let his hair go white. He's always complained about people only focussing on his looks, but how can they not when he obviously does.
