Tipsy Gail Porter fuming after she's marched out of glamorous perfume party

Updated 19:28pm on 8 Aug 2008

Gail Porter was furious after being frog-marched out of a party last night by organisers who thought she was too drunk.

The TV presenter, who does enjoy a tipple at parties, was allowed to pose for a few pictures and even complete a brief TV interview before being led out of a side door only half an hour after arriving.

Gail said: 'Do you know I've been asked to leave? They say I am too drunk to be here.

'I can't believe it, this is so out of order. I haven't even been here 30 minutes yet.

'They allowed me to do all the television interviews and pose for pictures, but now I'm being escorted out of the party.

'I've only had two glasses of wine before coming here. But they are insisting I've had too much. It's ridiculous.'

She was at an Elizabeth Arden party in 24 nightclub in Kingly Street, Mayfair, having arrived with a pal who was also ushered out by the PR assistants running the event.

Today the organisers were unavailable for comment.

The blow comes as Gail, who lost her hair through alopecia in 2005, admitted she is struggling to find TV work because she refuses to wear a wig.

The 37-year-old Scot, who has a six-year-old daughter called Honey with her ex, Toploader guitarist Dan Hipgrave, said this week: 'I'm a 37-year-old single mother with no hair, it's not going to happen.'

She doesn't know why her hair has never recovered.

'They say it can be stress hormones, but if it was just stress then half the people in London would be bald,' she said.

'I don't put it down to being ill, being depressed or anything  -  I think it's the luck of the draw.'

Gail, who lives in north London with Honey and her on/off boyfriend James Lloyd, now claims if her hair did grow back she would cut it all off.

Could it also have been that Ms Porter was very inappropriately dressed for the event?
