Lewis Hamilton is used to living his life in the fast lane and rubbing shoulders with A-list celebrities.

So the Formula 1 ace was in his element when he and his Pussycat Doll girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger enjoyed the company of Britney Spears' former husband Kevin Federline on Thursday night.

The couple and wannabe rapper Federline socialised with friends at the launch of EA Sports' new American football computer game Madden NFL 09 at the STK nightclub in West Hollywood, California.

And the group was only too happy to ham it up for the cameras as hip-hop Hamilton revved up a hand sign or two.

Also at the event were Austin Powers star Verne Troyer, Playboy boss Hugh Hefner and reality TV star Lauren Conrad.

In May, Scherzinger was reported to have told friends she had been dating the motor racing star 'on and off for three months'.

In June, they arrived together at Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday bash in London's Hyde Park, where they mingled with A-list stars including Bill Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Uma Thurman and Sir Elton John.

Things are going so well with Scherzinger that Hamilton has already introduced her to his father Anthony, stepmother Linda and half-brother Nicholas.
