Steven Gerrard's wife Alex Curran has some new competition for her leading Liverpool WAG title in the form of Robbie Keane’s wife Claudine Palmer.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker's better half made her first appearance in Liverpool today following her husband’s transfer to the city.

The couple – who were married in June - spent the day shopping at the local Sainsburys before taking their dog for a walk.

Dressed in cropped jeans, wedges and a white waistcoast, the Irish model smiled happily for photographers as she took in her new home.

Friends say that the 25-year-old Irish model is ‘beyond excited’ to join the likes of fellow Liverpool WAGs Alex Curran and Abigail Clancy.

‘She thinks that it couldn’t have happened at a better time, as they have just got married and this move will be a fresh start for their new life as a married couple.’

‘Claudine has lived with Robbie in London for the last four years now, she loves the shops there and the buzz of the city and is sad to leave all of her London pals behind but she's definitely ready for the move and can't contain her excitement about their new adventure,’  a source told the Liverpool Herald.

Liverpool signed the Ireland captain from London football club Tottenham Hotspur for a reported £19 million last week.
