At 49, the Duran Duran frontman and one-time pin-up appears to have let himself go over the years.

The singer showed off his considerable paunch on an Italian beach at the weekend, where he sported a fetching pair of tiny black swimming trunks.

His wife, meanwhile, the model Yasmin Le Bon revealed her still stunning figure in a skimpy black bikini.

Despite being a 43-year-old mother-of-three, the supermodel has clearly been working hard to maintain her figure.

The same could not be said about her husband as he frolicked on the sand, seemingly unbothered by onlookers as he adjusted his swimming trunks.

The couple, who have been married for 22 years, have three daughters Amber Rose, Saffron Sahara and Tallulah Pine.

Legend has it that Le Bon first spotted the woman who would become his wife on the front of a magazine cover in 1984, at the height of his fame with the band.

He phones her modelling agency to track her down and the pair eventually married in December, 1985.

Duran Duran had already been a band for two years before Le Bon joined as a singer in 1980 thanks to an introduction by his then-girlfriend.

He is said to have turned up at the audition in pink leopard-print trousers and a notebook full of poetry, much of which ended up on the band's early albums.

The group reunited in 2001 and released a new album three years later. The single from the record, (Reach Up for the) Sunrise was their first UK Top 10 single in a decade.
