Vegas bride Peaches Geldof shows off her ring... but not her husband
Updated 23:21pm on 13 Aug 2008
Most newlyweds would be forgiven for spending every waking moment together in the days after tying the knot.
But Peaches Geldof is not your average bride. She cut a solitary figure in London yesterday, half a world away from her new husband.
The 19-year-old flew home apparently on the instruction of her father Sir Bob, who - despite official statements to the contrary - is said to be frustrated by his daughter's Las Vegas wedding to rocker Maxwell Drummey.

The 15-minute ceremony last week had only one witness and Peaches is reported to have told her father only two hours beforehand.
Mr Drummey, 23, has remained in the U.S. where his unknown band, Chester French, are rehearsing for a concert.
There is mounting speculation the wedding was a stunt to promote Drummey's band who are about to release an album and are currently touring America.

The newlyweds released a statement through Peaches' agent confirming they had wed and that their marriage had the full support of family and friends. But it was laced with references to Drummey's music deals, prompting the suggestion the marriage was being used to enhance his career.
The statement said: 'Peaches and Max Drummey are delighted to announce their marriage. The couple tied the knot in a simple low-key ceremony in Las Vegas last week.
'Peaches first met Max two years ago. Max's band, Chester French, played at the ITV iTunes festival, where Peaches was co-host.

The newlyweds, pictured leaving London's Maddox club in July, have received the blessing of Peaches' father Bob Geldof
'The acclaimed Boston band were signed by Pharrell Williams to his label Star Trak. Their marriage has the support of family and friends'
Peaches has reportedly been a fan of Drummey and his band for a couple of years. But it is understood they began a romance after meeting last month at the iTunes Festival.
The couple married at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, right, and their marriage licence is seen left

Days earlier she is said to have left her previous boyfriend Faris Badwan, singer in the English band The Horrors.
Peaches said in last weekend's Sunday Times she had a tattoo of a noose and a book dedicated to Badwan, which she explained 'symbolises me being owned by , for him to have a rope around me'.
But by last Tuesday she was marrying Drummey - who bears a striking resemblance to her father - at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Vegas.
Her parents Geldof and the late Paula Yates also married in Vegas, at the Little Chapel of the West, in 1986.
Miss Geldof spent yesterday morning holed up alone at her flat in North London, only emerging at lunchtime to take delivery of a £25 steak salad from a local takeaway.
She had what looked like a makeshift plastic gold engagement ring on her left hand.
Then at around 3pm, the door opened again to reveal an immaculately turned-out Peaches. In a French beret and beige designer dress, she now flaunted a gigantic antique sparkler on her wedding finger.
Miss Geldof was then escorted to a meeting with her agent by two police officers, on hand to ensure safe passage amid the media scrum.

Her driver, from the company Addison Lee, said he was called to the flat by Geldof, who made the booking under the name 'Kirsty'.
Miss Geldof said yesterday: 'I'm very happy.'
Others to have married at the Little White Wedding Chapel include Britney Spears, Joan Collins and Bruce Willis and Demi Moore.
The Reverend Stephen Fabretti, who married Peaches, said: 'They held hands and looked eye-to-eye - with him still wearing sunglasses. They looked very happy. The bride looked very young and pale and quite angelic. They didn't bring any friends as witnesses so the photographer had to stand in.'
Drummey's father Paul said: 'We're very happy for them both.'

Alex I am not confused. In fact I would say I am well adjusted. One thing
I am not is critical of a marriage when two people who are of age decide
that they want to make a solid commitment to each other its their business.
Have you never been in love and able to make a commitment.

Um, Peaches? Marriage is not a guarantee of an automatic American (or otherwise) visa.

Hmm, yes, I'm sure marrying an American citizen you admit to only dating for a week or two, following a highly publicised drugs overdose will make it so much easier to get residency in the US...

Wow, Brian dean - something does actually say you have to be a certain age to get married, its called the law. they meet that criteria, so there's obviously nothing wrong with them getting married in principle, but... I dunno, I hope my cynical self is completely wrong and they live happily ever after, and Peaches finds success employing her so-far-unseen talents.
But the "source close to Peaches" must be having a laugh. "She loved being able to go out without the attention she gets in London but her father wanted her to come home."!?!? really? all that attention, if only they'd leave her alone(!) she's actively encouraged media scrutiny because that's how she affords the lifestyle she does (god knows the royalties from 'i don't like mondays' won't cover all those booze-ups in posh London clubs). so the idea she'd move to LA to get away from it all is clearly absurd. if anything, she wants to move to LA to get MORE attention.
she's like a British Paris Hilton; just as vacant, just as talentless, but not quite so thoroughly spoiled. I hope she gets ignored by the press from now on.

Well let's face it, headlines involving Peaches were a bit thin on the ground at the moment ... it seemed the logical choice (poor, sad pathetic little girl that she is)

Who cares what this young girl does, she behaves like a spoilt attention seeking teenager, I can't believe she gets so much air time!

No one said you have to be a certain age to be married let alone having some fun. Louie you must be perfect and have perfect off spring. They might be
on the pathway to hell but they are to young to give themselves to God.
