Most brides are prepared to go to extreme lengths to make sure everything is perfect for their wedding day.

And the three wives-to-be taking part in GMTV's Battle Of The Brides competition are no exception, as they prepare to bare all for the chance to win their dream wedding.

Hundreds of couples who entered the competition were whittled down to nine, then three, who have been forced to compete in a series of challenges in the hope of winning the lavish ceremony.

Danny Duggan, 25, and Caroline Clark, 24, from Sheffield, in Covent Garden, London, wearing only bodypaint as part of a challenge for round two of GMTV's 'Battle of the Brides' competition.

Gloves... and clothes are off: Sheffield couple Danny Duggan and Caroline Clark bared all in body paint in London's Covent Garden this morning

After completing a series of earlier challenges, the three couples got more than they bargained for this morning when GMTV producers asked them to strip down in the centre of London's busy Covent Garden wearing nothing but body paint and a few accessories to protect their modesty.

Prospective spouses Mark Baggett, 30, and Sadie Whitelock, 20, from Kettering, Danny Duggan, 25, and Caroline Clark, 24, from Sheffield, and Kirk Elba, 24, and Emma Kingshott, 27, from Guildford, bravely removed their clothes on live TV this morning in the unseasonal temperature of 16 degrees Celsius.

Wandering around Covent Garden outside St Paul's Church, the three couples quickly raised eyebrows amongst passer-bys, who slowly realised they were naked.

Caroline said: 'I hope we win otherwise we will have to save up and probably wait about three years before we can get married.

'It was great fun being painted. I thought Danny looked particularly good in his military-style outfit. It was very intricate.'

The couple will have to take part in several more tasks before the winner is announced in two weeks.

The winning pair will marry live on TV on August 29th in a civil ceremony at Eastnor Castle deep in the Malvern hills, Herefordshire.

Before the ceremony, they will enjoy a Champagne wedding breakfast for 20 guests.

The bride will wear a bespoke wedding dress by designer Caroline Castigliano and will be madeover by hairstylist Richard Ward and make-up artist Jemma Kidd.

Following the service and reception, the couple will spend two weeks on a £5,000 honeymoon in the Caribbean.

The happy couple will be treated as celebrities as they are photographed as part of a magazine deal for OK!

I think it is fantastic, fun and different

This nasty, tawdry spectacle has got to be a low point for British TV, surely?
