Every woman can relate to having a bad hair day - but it seems Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts is having a BIG hair day.

The 23-year-old singer showed off her striking auburn mane with a huge bouffant style on a charity photo shoot.

Natural redhead Nicola recently dyed her vibrant locks an even brighter shade - despite claiming that she felt insecure about her ginger colouring.

For someone who claims not to like her looks, the star isn't scared to stand out from the crowd.

Earlier this year it emerged the pale star was so upset by her looks that her bandmates had taken to hiding newspaper articles from her.

She also admitted that worries about her looks had led to a series of binge drinking sessions.

She said: 'For years I felt like the ugly one in Girls Aloud. I was tall, skinny, with red hair and the whitest skin you've ever seen - standing next to to four of the most gorgeous girls in Britain.'

However that obviously hasn't stopped her from making a feature of her striking locks.

Nicola sported the big hair look on a photo shoot for Kit Kat  on which she wore a T-shirt featuring a fairy and the words 'Let It Be'.

Girls Aloud members have all designed limited edition T-shirts for the Make A Wish Foundation, which can only be won through special KitKat Senses bars.

The charity grants wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses.
