It's not her typical glammed up style.

But Kate Hudson appears to have returned to the sexy rock chick look she favoured when married to former husband Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson.

Looking as if she had just got out of bed, she left her London hotel room with freshly-washed hair, wearing a brief checked shirt-dress, black tights and leather boots, with a frock coat.

The casually tossed together ensemble combined with a make-up free Kate, made the 28-year-old look fresh and sexy.

The 28-year-old actress has enjoyed a turbulent love life of late.

But clearly judging by the evidence it won't be long before she's swept off her feet again.

She recently called off her whirlwind romance with champion cyclist  Lance Armstrong after just three months.

The previously inseparable couple split over the weekend.

A source told US magazine: 'There was no drama or ugliness. 

They just decided to end things. There is no hatred, just sadness.'

Last year she split from her rock star husband Chris Robinson after nearly six years of marriage last year.

She and Robinson have a three -year-old son together, Ryder Russell.

But clearly he's not the only reminder of their time together.

The actress is spending time in the UK to start rehearsals for the film adaptation of Broadway musical Nine, directed by Rob Marshall.

The film will star actor Daniel Day-Lewis as world-famous film director Guido Contini, who must balance the women in his life while making his latest movie. 

Oscar nominee Hudson will star alongside Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard and Dame Judi Dench.
