She's only just got back from the 80s, but Ashes to Ashes star Keeley Hawes looked like she'd stepped back two centuries as she visited husband Matthew MacFadyen at work yesterday.

Keeley, 32, took her two young children for a trip to see their father filming scenes for the BBC adaptation of Charles Dickens' Little Dorrit in north London.

Daughter Maggie and son Ralph appeared fascinated by the sight of their father in period costume, with Ralph taking the chance to try on his character Arthur Clennam's top hat. It swamped his head, but Keeley was on hand to free her son.

Keeley and MacFayden met while starring in the BBC drama Spooks and married in October 2004.

Unlike her 33-year-old husband and his co-stars Claire Foy and Freema Agyeman, Keeley looked comfortable in her relaxed clothing.

She skipped the corsets of the 1850s for a comfortable pair of jeans and an embroidered smock top. Her outfit was a change from her 80s gear in Ashes to Ashes, when she won fans with her tight lycra outfits as DI Alex Drake.
