He's a fine one to talk: Chris Moyles calls Girls Aloud's Nicola a 'sour-faced old cow'

DJ Chris Moyles unleashed an astonishing new tirade against Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts on his Radio One show.
The 33-year-old branded the singer a 'sour-faced old cow' who 'looks like she works at Netto' in his on air rant.
He said: 'Nicola is not the most striking one out of Girls Aloud, unless by striking, you mean ginger.
Feud: Chris Moyles launched a new attack on Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts
'It’s nothing to do with her hair or the way her face or body is, it’s that the sour-faced old cow never smiles – ever.
'She always looks peed off, like she doesn’t want to be in the band.
'Someone should show her the Girl’s Aloud bank account because if she worked at Tesco’s - and it would take a few years to build up to that level for her - she wouldn’t be making the money she’s making now.
'She’s got a great life flying all over the world yet her face looks like she works at Netto.'
Struggle: Nicola previously said she felt like 'the ugly one in Girls Aloud'
It's not the first time Moyles has expressed his contempt for the 22-year-old - he referred to her as 'the ropey-looking ginger one' in his 2006 book One Man and His Mouth.
Earlier this year, Nicola said of Moyles: 'I can’t stand him. It’s no surprise I look miserable with him on my case. And he’s such a good-looking bloke himself, isn’t he?'
Nicola has previously admitted she suffered from low self-esteem, revealing that she would often avoid looking in the mirror.
'For years I felt like the ugly one in Girls Aloud,' she has said.
'It was weird. I joined this band because my life was all about singing. Then Girls Aloud became successful, and suddenly it wasn’t just about being able to sing any more. It turned into a beauty contest.
'People on radio and television started making nasty comments about me and I felt awful. Turning from a teenager into a woman is hard enough without dealing with snide comments.'
Now, Nicola says she does her best to brush off criticism: 'Ultimately I’m quite a strong person.'

Generally speaking an individual has to achieve something in order to justifiably shoot down others with unpleasant criticism, and yet aside from being an egotistical Radio One DJ (somewhat ironically named so considering his distinct reluctance to play any music on his show) Chris Moyles has done nothing of merit. I still vividly remember the brain melting frustration of the Joss Stone interview shortly after accent-gate where Moyles gave her something of a "good talking to" but ultimately giving her the thumbs up in the end like anybody could care less about his opinion. He is in no position to pass judgement on others, and clearly it did nothing to help Joss Stone's career leaving her to rely on her talent, a concept clearly lost to Moyles.
He is merely part of the newest breed of "celebrity" pieced together mainly of former Big Brother contestants and man-hungry glamour models whom the lardy loud-mouth has openly mocked in the past. Moyles is merely famous for being controversial to a limited audience of empty-headed 20-somethings on their first commute to work. Of course it must be said that the BBC's strategy of recruiting new radio presenters by pitching a table of free sausages by a taxi rank and taking the person who ate the most off to fortune and fame was a rather controversial move in the first instance...

He comes across like an attention seeking insecure fool. There's plenty of really unpleasant people in the UK entertainment industry, interesting how he picks on a young girl, with previously stated insecurities.
Why not go after the likes of Alan Rickman, Kate Lawler or Jade Goody huh? Not man enough me thinks.

Chris needs to look in the mirror himself. I have never, ever seen how that man has become successful - he is an arrogant man with weight and looks issues and is in no position to call anyone ropey or sour faced. If it was up to me, Chris will be working in Netto, but then again maybe not as he would probably eat all the pies.

Chris Moyles - dull, overrated w*****

I personally really like the way that Nicola has turned herself around in the past year. She used to wear fake tan and just mill around the other girls but now she seems much more happy and confident as she goes for a less obvious but equally attractive, quirkier image.
Just because she doesn't go for the typical "wag-look" favoured by her band-mates - orange skin, highlights and big white teeth - doesn't mean she deserves this type of slating. Especially by a man who's old enough (and ugly enough) to know it's wrong to pick on little girls less than half his age!

Chris Moyles looks like he could give the pies a miss!

If your life was "all about singing", Nicola, being in Girls Aloud hardly achieves that!
But at least you're not perma-tanned and plastic like your "band" mates (and are a lot better looking than Chris Moyles, in common with 99.9% of the rest of the population).
