Halle Berry shunned the celebrity trend of selling her baby's first photos to the highest bidder.

But on a family day out little Nahla showed she has inherited her mother's star quality, charming onlookers with her blue-eyed smile.

Halle was the picture of health on her trip to LA Zoo with her mother, blonde Judy Berry.

Her boyfriend and the father of her daughter, French-Canadian model Gabriel Aubry, was not with them - leaving them to enjoy their girl's day out.

Halle's womanly curves showed she has chosen to avoid another worrying celebrity bandwagon - that of losing huge amounts of baby weight in a matter of weeks after giving birth.

At 42 perhaps she is wise enough to that protruding bones and a gaunt face is not an attractive look.

Little Nahla squeaked and squealed at the sights and sounds of LA Zoo - almost as much as the fans who spotted her

The twice-married actress once announced on the Oprah Winfrey Show that she would not tie the knot a third time.

She said: 'I will never marry again. I have a good healthy love for myself and love in my life. I no longer feel the need to be someone's wife and I don't need the validation of a marriage certificate.'

However the unmissable sparkler on her wedding finger left onlookers wondering if she had changed her mind.

She and Aubry have been dating since they met on a Versace set three years ago and live together in LA.

Perhaps motherhood has softened the Oscar-winning actress, previously married to US baseball player David Justice and singer Eric Benet.
