X Factor star Alan Turner has come under fire again after it emerged that he is already a professional singer with a booking agent.

The 23-year-old, who was accused of inventing a sob story about his childhood to gain a place in the show, performs as Shane Allen in miners welfare clubs according to a report in The Sun.

Turner reportedly angered club bosses by cancelling his gig at the Kimberley Miners Welfare club in Nottingham at the last minute on Saturday night .

Tearful: But Alan Turner's claims are disputed by his father

Under fire: X factor contestant Alan Turner is already a professional singer with a booking agent, according to reports

'We got a panicking phone call from someone calling on behalf of Alan putting a blanket ban on all the posters we had up.

‘He told us to take them down. He didn’t give us an excuse. I think Alan must have got a bit scared he would get in trouble with the X Factor,’ Vice chairman Garry Yorke is quoted as saying.

X Factor hopefuls are banned from having record deals or agents.

Last week it emerged Turner had lied about being abandoned by his parents on the show.

He was put through to the next round of the ITV talent show by judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue after claiming his dad, Alan senior, walked out on his mum Debbie Liles when he was 18 months old.

But his father later dismissed the story as a fantasy and revealed that he had spoken to him just weeks before.

The call centre worker claimed that he had been in foster care since he was four and wanted to 'prove to his real family that he was not a waste of space and to make my foster parent proud'.

He told the judges: 'As much as I love my foster parent for all she has done, I want to get to know my real family. I would just love it if they were to get in touch with me and to say they did want to see me.

But his shocked father said: 'It is utterly untrue. I am astonished - he absolutely knows who we are and where we are.

A spokesman for X Factor said that Alan appeared not to have broken show rules.

‘Alan assures us Keith Bestwick is purely a booking representative which he is entitled to have, along with having a stage name which does not break any X Factor rules,’ he told The Sun.

Meanwhile singer Niki Evans, who appeared on the show last year, revealed that staff at the TV talent show advise contestants to talk up tragedies they have suffered in order to win votes.

The mother from Tamworth, Staffordshire, said she was encouraged to cry over her dad's death while appearing on the programme last year.

And she claimed she was voted off after she refused advice from judge Louis Walsh to sing Luther Vandross's Dance With My Father and cry afterwards.

Evans, who came fourth, revealed: 'Louis, my mentor, had told me to sing Luther Vandross's Dance With My Father and then cry afterwards.

'But I told him there was no way I was going to do that …not with my mum sitting in front of me. It would have been really hurtful. And it just looked like I was grabbing onto it and using this tragedy to further my career.

'I was really adamant that I wouldn't do it, and in the end I got my way and performed Songbird.

'I was voted off the show that night…but I don't regret not performing Dance With My Father.'

'It seems that more and more of the contestants feel they have to have a sob story to successfully get through the X Factor auditions,' she added.

'What they don't realise is that afterwards, when your time on the show comes to an end and you're not in the top five, that you really need to fight for a music career.'
