Is that you, Mrs Brown? PM's wife Sarah and friends look a delight in white as she gets used to the limelight

Updated 11:34am on 3 Sep 2008

Since her husband was handed the keys to Number 10, Sarah Brown has not looked particularly comfortable in the limelight.

But as she poses here in a glamorous celebrity photoshoot, her smile and body language suggest she might just be getting used to it.

The 44-year-old appeared alongside Big Brother presenter Davina McCall, actress Patsy Kensit, Radio 1 DJ Jo Whiley and beautician Ruby Hammer.

They are promoting the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood.

Mrs Brown is patron of the charity, which raises funding for healthcare for expectant mothers across the world.

While Miss Kensit opted for figure-hugging white trousers.

However, Mrs Brown decided not to depart from her comfort zone, opting for a combination of jacket and skirt and low heels.

  • A full feature on the charity photoshoot appears in this month’s Eve magazine, on sale tomorrow.
