'I'm dying inside,' says Lily Allen on Facebook after shameful Elton outburst

Updated 10:49am on 6 Sep 2008

Lily Allen has launched a worrying tirade of self-loathing on her personal Facebook page, describing her emotional state as 'dying inside'.

She also wrote that she 'feels like killing' herself, although this statement was later removed.

The singer, 23, in the headlines this week because of her tipsy behaviour and constant sipping of champagne while hosting the GQ Awards ceremony, pulled out of producer Mark Ronson's birthday party last night.

Dying inside: Too much champagne: Lily Allen fell foul of the free bar at the GQ bash and is now regretting her outburst at star Elton John

She also stated she would not be going to Bestival this weekend on the Isle of Wight.

At 5.52pm on Thursday, her Facebook entry read: 'Lily is dying inside.'

Lily wrote on her Facebook page 'Dying inside'

This replaced an earlier statement, posted at 4.30pm, when she wrote on her page:

'Lily has had enough feels like killing herself.'

The Smile star's actions have left close friends fearing for her state of mind. One said: 'I don't know why she had put this on there. There is no reason for it.'

It is not the first time Lily has written disturbing comments.

Last year she prompted fears for her emotional state after posting on her MySpace page that she felt she was 'fat, ugly and s****er than Winehouse'. This outburst came after her debut clothing collection at New Look received a lukewarm response.

Now her friends are wondering what could have sparked Lily's latest rant. One explanation was that the mouthy star may have been troubled by something she said during the GQ Awards on Tuesday.

On the same page, at 1.31am on Friday, Lily wrote: 'Was he upset? I'm worried now. Was I mean?'

Her friend replied: 'It was priceless. Hope you got rid of the hangover in the end.'

This may have been a reference to her onstage clash with Sir Elton John, who complained about the amount of champagne she was drinking. After Lily told him to 'f* * k off, " he responded: 'I could still snort you under the table.'

However Lily played down on the spat, writing on a separate MySpace post: 'Elton and I exchanged jokes and there were no hard feelings at all, in fact neither of us gave it a second thought.'

She added: 'I'm not defending my drunkeness because I don't need to. I'm 23. It was an awards ceremony I drank the free champagne. How awful of me.'

'I've been made to feel like a bad friend and an embarrassment to my fans and the people who support me,' Allen adds.

'I shouldn't have to defend myself when I've done nothing wrong.'
