The shocking moment Noel Gallagher is pushed from the stage by a crazed fan during Oasis gig

These pictures shows the moment a fight broke out on stage at an Oasis gig when a crazed fan stormed the stage.

The scuffle began at the performance in Toronto, Canada when a man managed to by-pass security and sent Noel Gallagher flying into the crowd while still holding his guitar.

However brother Liam jumped to his aid and a ruckus ensued as the bemused audience looked on.

Still holding his instrument, Noel was flung head first off the six foot high stage and into the front row of the packed out audience.

Security rushed from the wings and dived on the culprit to stop him jumping back into the crowd before dragging him off backstage.

Realising what had happened Liam ran an the fan and swiftly gave him a couple of punches for his trouble.

The man, who has not been named, was charged with assault by local police who are still unclear why he did it.

Noel was fit enough to continue and the band returned to the stage after a brief 10 minute break to reset the microphones and cables.

The band emerged to a rapturous round of applause and kicked off their final set with 'The Importance of Being Idle.'

One Canadian viewer called Dave who was at the gig posted the footage on Youtube.

He sent a message to Noel saying: 'I am sorry for this act of violence inflicted on you in my home country (or anywhere at all).

'I hope the rest of your stay in Toronto is more uneventful.'

Oasis were headlining the Virgin Fest, which took place at the City's Island Park.

It also featured performances from the Foo Fighters, Paul Weller and the Stereophonics.

The festival gig came as Oasis prepare to complete their North American tour, which ends in New York on Friday.

So you think he deserved this? For gods sake, Oasis lit up the stale and turgid music scene in the mid 1990's. Their attitude was firmly tongue in cheek, their music exciting and Noel is a fantastic songwriter. This attack is insane and has possibly ruined the prospect if seeing the band live for thousands of people. At the end of the day he is a musician and no musician who is performing for their audience should have to put up with this.
