She was dressed to impress for a night alongside London's elite, but Meg Matthews made the wrong kind of impression when she took an embarrassing tumble while leaving the Serpentine Gallery Summer party.

The 42-year-old former party queen and ex wife of Oasis star Noel Gallagher was helped to her feet by horrified security .

Matthews had joined the likes of Naomi Campbell, Mario Testino, Damien Hirst and Joely Richardson at the event in London’s Hyde Park.

Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, Sophie Ellis Bextor and US singer Katy Perry also attended the event which is one of the most high-profile events in the social calendar.

The Serpentine party was given a Russian theme this year in honour of its host Dasha Zhukova - girlfriend of Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich.

Artwork for the event was commissioned from Alexander Vinogradov and Vladimir Dubossarsky.

Hans Ulrich Obrist, the Serpentine’s co-director of exhibitions, said: “We have focused in recent years on China and India and now it’s very exciting to have this dialogue with Dasha and The Garage as our first connection with Moscow.”
