Actress Keira Knightley was clearly dressed to impress as she wowed crowds at the New York premiere of The Duchess last night.

And it seemed the diminutive star drew some inspiration from a model source as she bore an uncanny resemblance to 1960s style icon Twiggy.

Dressed in a stunning black number and sporting heavy eye make up with her hair pulled into a tight crop, the actress cut a fine figure at The Public Theater for the Chanel Vogue joint premiere.

Keira took a more demure approach at last night's event after wearing a less than flattering dress to the premiere of the movie at the Toronto Film Festival.

The British actress wore a gray strapless flowing chiffon gown, which only served to highlight her jutting cheekbones and tiny frame.

But her previous dress seemed a distant memory as she looked a picture of style and grace in New York.

And the look clearly  worked as the actress posed for the cameras with Mamma Mia! actor Dominic Cooper and American Vogue editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour.

The 23-year-old beauty is currently travelling around the world to promote her new movie.

She stars as Georgiana Spencer, the Duchess of Devonshire, who becomes part of a love triangle after her marriage to the Duke, played by Ralph Fiennes.
