Less than a week ago she was flung headlong off a horse in a cross country event.

But Zara Phillips was spotted back on her feet on Thursday, checking out the water jump at Blenheim Palace cross country course with her two pet dogs.

The Queen's granddaughter hasn't been put off riding by her dramatic fall and is taking part in Blenheim Palace International horse Trials.

Dressed in a black baseball cap and rain jacket, Zara, who is the daughter of Princess Anne, was soaked up to the knees of her jeans  - but she is ready to get on new horse Tallyho Sambucca tomorrow and begin her bid to win the three-day event.

Emma Sewell, press officer for Blenheim Palace, said: 'She's fine. She was walking the course having just passed the first horse inspection.

'It's a new horse for her, so it will be slightly unknown for her, but it has been going well this season.'

Zara, 27, escaped serious injury when she fell from Ardfield Magic Star at a cross country event in Cambridgeshire drawing gasps of horror from onlookers.

It was not the first time Zara had taken a tumble on the horse although the last time was far more serious.

Four years ago she was knocked unconscious in a fall from the same horse at a three-day event at Lulworth Castle in Dorset.

And in June last year she crash-landed on her neck and shoulders after her horse, Tsunami II, stumbled over a 7ft fence at the Bramham International Horse Trials near Wetherby, North Yorkshire.

The two horses are among seven she keeps at the Gatcombe estate in Gloucestershire where she lives with her boyfriend, England rugby player Mike Tindall.

Zara won the European Championships at Blenheim Palace in 2005.
