Opoona: Diverting moments come from clueless translations

The bizarre Japanese obsession with infantile, role-playing adventures in which video game conventions are confounded by cuddly cuteness can often make for unexpectedly charming games.

Unfortunately, it can also make for pointless ones where the kitsch is cloying and the gameplay trite.


This strange offering falls, cooing and clucking, into the latter category. Many of its most diverting moments come from clueless translations.
