Though he had all the essential details right, Danny Cipriani somehow ended up with the wrong girl at the end of a night on the town.

The woman below, with whom the England rugby player was photographed outside London club Chinawhite, did bear a striking physical resemblance to his new love Kelly Brook.

But her heavy make-up, and reluctance to be photographed, set her apart.

Cipriani, 20, who plays for London club Wasps, was pictured leaving Chinawhite two weeks ago. It was the night after he had been introduced to Miss Brook, 28. He and his

camera-shy friend tried to exit through the back entrance and covered their faces as soon as they saw they were caught on film.

An onlooker said: 'We saw Danny come out of the back entrance with this girl. He was saying to her, "Just come back with me". When the photographers started taking photos she said she couldn't do it and ran away.'

The girl is thought to be a regular at Chinawhite who goes by the name Sophia.

A photographer said: 'He was begging us at first not to take the pictures.

'When the story that he was going out with Kelly Brook

came out two days later we realised why he wanted the pictures kept quiet.'

Last week Miss Brook's PR confirmed that she is having a relationship with Cipriani after meeting him at a private party. They have made several appearances together.

The model and TV presenter broke up with her fiance Billy Zane, 42, last month. Last weekend, Cipriani's former girlfriend Monica Irimia issued a warning to Miss Brook about the rugby player.

The Cheeky Girl said: 'He's immature, he's a kid. He doesn't want a steady relationship. He just wants dot-dot-dot --let's put it that way! This is the feeling I got from him.'
