Scott Maslen marries sweetheart in front of EastEnders cast at fairytale home

Updated 15:18pm on 16 Sep 2008

Scott Maslen has married long-term love Estelle Rubio in a star-studded ceremony.

The 37-year-old EastEnders actor, who plays swaggering Jack Branning, dissolved into tears when he saw Estelle in her Cleopatra-inspired ivory gown with a half-moon, jewel encrusted décolletage.

He was so overwhelmed that he had trouble uttering his vows and at times had to comforted by Estelle, 33, who reassuringly stroked his cheek.

'I really held it together well, didn’t I?' he joked.

The ceremony took place at a stately home set in 500 acres of beautiful parkland and the 150 guests included Scott’s EastEnder’s co-stars Barbara Windsor, Patsy Palmer, Sid Owen, Steve McFadden, Jo Joyner, Samantha Janus (who was matron of honour) and Perry Fenwick.

Scott said: 'I am associated with being a bit of a Jack the Lad because of the parts I play, but I don’t understand people who cheat, and I cannot be with a friend who cheats.

'I want a long-lasting kind of love and I believe I will have that with Estelle.'

'It’s been a very intense period for us both but it was the most beautiful day of my life,' said Scott.

'I feel my life is really coming together: we have a fantastic son, have moved into our dream home and our careers are going well. And most importantly, we are still madly in love. I can’t wait to get on and enjoy being Mr and Mrs Maslen… and then I’m trying for another baby as soon as possible.'

The full feature, along with more pictures, appears in this week’s Hello! magazine, on sale tomorrow.

What a heart-warming story when so many people are cynical of marriage. Best wishes to the pair of them .....
