Jemima Khan may have just launched her own fashion collection, but it seems her friends aren't quite so clued up on how to dress.

The 34-year-old socialite was left red-faced when she was turned away from a nightclub because her male companions, including millionaire Damian Aspinall,  were wearing jeans.

At least Jemima herself looked the part of budding designer wearing a glamorous blue dress and championing Britain with a Union Flag clutch bag.

After being refused entry to exclusive Mayfair haunt Annabel's Club, a sheepish Jemima headed to Chelsea to seek a less strict door policy.

Ironically she had been attending the launch of her capsule collection for Paris fashion house Azzaro.

The ex-girlfriend of Hugh Grant was picked as a guest designer for the label and collaborated with artistic director Vanessa Seward in launching the collection.

Celebrity pals who showed up to support Jemima on her opening night included actress Gwyneth Paltrow, model Claudia Schiffer and Sting's wife Trudy Styler.
