Supermodel Heidi Klum showed the world she's not just a pretty face - but also a dab-hand at hilarious slapstick humour.

I've got you: Host Tom Bergeron drops Heidi

It looked like Klum, who is married to the British singer Seal, had been studying The Three Stooges before presenting the Emmy Awards in LA last night.

The German-born model, 35, first pretended to faint and then crashed on to the stage after being dropped by fellow host Tom Bergeron, presenter of America's Funniest Home Videos - the pain clearly visible on her face.

A brave Klum was later pictured backstage with Bergeron making light of the large black bruise that had appeared on her leg.

Sore star: Heidi shows off her dark bruise from the fall, but can still laugh about it

Next up Bergeron was joined on stage by William Shatner, best known as Captain Kirk in Star Trek, to perform a synchronised manoeuvre to whip off Klum's tuxedo, Buck's Fizz-style, revealing hot pants and a waistcoat - one of six costume changes for the model during the three-hour show.

There was limited success for the British contingent at the 60th annual Emmy ceremony, with just Tom Wilkinson and Dame Eileen Atkins winning awards.

Wilkinson, 59, won best supporting actor for his role as Benjamin Franklin in John Adams. Dame Eileen, 74, scooped the outstanding supporting actress award for her portrayal of Deborah Jenkins in the costume drama Crawford.
