First day at uni and Beatrice Boujis on

Updated 12:38pm on 24 Sep 2008

Princess Beatrice has passed the first big test she will face at university - partying until the early hours. Unfortunately, it's unlikely to count towards her final grade. The 19-year-old begins a history course at Goldsmiths College today, but might need to take a few aspirin before the first lecture after partying at Boujis until 1.30am.

Tired: Beatrice leaving at 1.30am

We're not sure what her parents will be saying to her this morning, but it's a fair bet they weren't too pleased that she was out on the lash the day before her degree course begins.

Beatrice was out with her boyfriend Dave Clark at the South Kensington nightspot. To be fair, calling it a night at 1.30am is early for the princess. We've seen her bowl out of that place a lot later on previous outings, and last night she left her younger sister Eugenie, 18 - who is taking a gap year - to party on until about 3.50am.

Queen of clubs: Eugenie stayed out later than her sister

Bea, whose own gap year ended this summer, almost plumped for a design course before choosing to study history. It's funny to think she's probably related to a lot of the people she' ll be learning about.

The princess, who is fifth in line to the throne, is joint beneficiary with her sister to a trust fund set up by the Queen Mother in 1994, which is said to be worth a few million quid.

Still, a degree in history will keep her out of trouble for a while.

She looks like Prince Andrew in a badly-maintained Fergie wig. Lucky old Dave Clark. He probably needs to drink until half one.
