Bea's fear of being snubbed at college

Updated 13:02pm on 3 Oct 2008

Princess Beatrice has revealed that she was terrified of not being accepted by her fellow students at Goldsmiths College. The 20-year-old daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, has embarked on a three-year degree course, studying History and History of Ideas at the South-East London university.

Princesses of clubs: Eugenie and Beatrice

The flame-haired royal was out last night at Petra Ecclestone's Form menswear launch party held at Harrods department store, Knightsbridge. She told us: "I'm so pleased that I chose Goldsmiths but my biggest worry was not being accepted by everyone else. Obviously it's hard but they've all been so nice to me and really accepted me."

Situated in New Cross, the college couldn't be further from the surroundings the princess is used to. And while the location may be a worrying factor for those close to Beatrice, it seems she couldn't be happier.

She said: "Oh, I don't mind being in a rough area at all. I think it's good for me to experience new things."

The princess also seems to be aware of her profile in the media. This week it was reported that she turned up 20 minutes late for her lecture after enjoying a night out with boyfriend Dave Clark.

Last night she was conspicuous by drinking water all night.

Not so her younger sister Eugenie, who has been something of a regular fixture on the club circuit this week. The 18-year-old, who is on her gap year, was at popular royal haunt Boujis on Tuesday night, at Kate Moss's party at Volstead on Wednesday, and she headed off to Boujis again last night after the Form party wrapped up. Sheesh!
