The payout for the 45-year-old's reprisal of lovable rogue Jack Sparrow outstrips Tom Hanks's £29m for the Da Vinci Code sequel Angels And Demons.
But Depp's British co-stars Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom are unlikely to return.
