Peaches jets ex-flatmate to Big Apple
Updated 13:05pm on 14 Oct 2008You'd think it would be every young socialite's dream to live in the hustle and bustle of New York - but the experience has turned into a bit of a nightmare for Peaches Geldof.

Rarely together: Peaches Geldof and hubby Max Drummey
The 19-year-old is so homesick in Manhattan that she has taken the drastic step to fly one of her best friends to America to stay with her.
Peaches made the move to the Big Apple earlier this year after marrying musician Max Drummey, 23.
But she is finding it hard to cope without her close friends and family, and is spending long periods of time by herself while Max is away on tour.
As a result, Peaches has flown her former flatmate and good friend Lily over to keep her company. We're told: "Lily and Peaches lived together in Angel before Peaches went off to get married.
"It was obvious that Peaches was missing everyone she knew, so Lily agreed to fly out to America to stay with her for some time. She's not sure how long she'll be out there - but for now she is there to give Peaches some much needed company.
"It's hard for Peaches to live in a completely different country with none of her friends around her, especially as Max is always away on tour."
Peaches caused a sensation earlier this year when she married the unknown indie rocker in a Las Vegas chapel - without the knowledge of her father or then boyfriend Faris Badwan.
Ironically, her move to New York was intended to escape her reputation as a wild child in the UK.
Peaches lives in Williamsburg, Brooklyn - so maybe she can hook up with fellow Brit Agyness Deyn, who is out there at the moment with her boyfriend Albert Hammond Jnr of The Strokes.
That's if they get on...

Unfortunately for us all, this "story" seems to indicate Peaches will be back in our capital soon. This is nothing to do with being homesick, she is just not getting the (completely unwarranted) media attention that she gets here. Ali has it right - she truly is nauseating and pampered. And why is she famous anyway? She has no discernible talent or skill of any kind, just a famous father. Pathetic.

The more I read about this pampered, indulged, nauseating brat the more I want to ask - Geldof, what the hell are you doing about your kids?...It's all very admirable to be pursuing philanthropic endeavours, but at the expense of taking charge of your daughters? They're such an embarassment and epitomise everything that's wrong with the excesses of being brought up in a "famous family"; and their antics serve only to undo the good reputation that you've (I'm sure) worked hard to cultivate and maintain. Pull your head out of the sand and start exhibiting some parental back bone!
