At first glance it's one of the more unlikely friendships, considering their 25-year age gap. But Lily Allen, 23, obviously shares something in common with Nigella Lawson, 48, to spend an evening with her last night.

We spotted the two leaving Scott's restaurant in Mayfair, with Lily looking surprisingly sober. A clue to their friendship is the presence of comedian Harry Enfield, a friend of Nigella's and one-time stepfather of Lily (he dated Lil's mum Alison Owen). And hanging around in the background was Nigella's brother Dominic Lawson. Let's hope the domestic goddess is a calming influence on Lily.
