The credit crunch has clearly hit the royal family hard. Well, sort of.

Princess Eugenie, 18, enjoyed an expensive night out but wearing a cut-price dress from Primark.

Princess Eugenie leaves Cipriani with the Duchess of York, Princess Beatrice and Dave Clark.

The Evening Standard discovered the same dress — predominantly red and decorated with white and beige poppies — on eBay this morning at a “Buy It Now” price of £19.99.

Eugenie was spotted in the dress at Cipriani restaurant in the West End with her mother the Duchess of York, sister Princess Beatrice, 20, and Beatrice's boyfriend Dave Clark in tow.

After a four-hour meal, the party continued at Whisky Mist nightclub in Mayfair where Fergie baled out at 1.40am.

The sisters, perhaps having saved a few bob on the dress, could afford to carry on until 3.30am when they emerged with their protection officers.

Which was probably just as well because after they left, a fight broke outside the club. A window was smashed and four men were arrested.
