Jo: I love being free of hearing moaning Ronnie

Updated 12:48pm on 6 Nov 2008

After 23 years of being married to Ronnie Wood, Jo has revealed she now feels able to finally focus on herself instead of "cooking and listening to moaning". The 53-year-old was at the Cosmopolitan Women Of The Year Awards - to celebrate "Fun, fearless females" - and she told us: "I feel free now, for years I have been at home cooking, cleaning and listening to moaning.

Dignity: Jo Woods at the awards

"But now I have so much work on and my family have been so strong, so it's been easier to get through everything."

Jo has been a regular fixture on the social scene since splitting from Rolling Stone guitarist Ronnie, 61, after he got together with 20-year-old waitress Ekaterina Ivanova.

But it looks like she is getting over him, and she let her hair down at the Cosmo bash at The Banqueting House in Whitehall last night.

She added: "It's now my time and I'm loving it." If there was an award for dignity last night, Jo would have surely won it.

Kim Cattrall picked up the Ultimate Icon award, while Girls Aloud were named Ultimate Fun Fearless Females (well, they are certainly fun - we're not sure about the fearless bit). Gethin Jones won the title of Ultimate Hottie and fashion guru Gok Wan was awarded the Ultimate Celeb Man gong.

Cleaning?! I'm sure that she didn't have to clean the several properties bought with Ronnie's earnings herself...
