Ulrika: Myleene Klass’s career was dead before I’m A Celeb

Updated 13:23pm on 25 Nov 2008

Ulrika Jonsson has accused Myleene Klass of using reality TV to revive her “paralysed” career.

Jonsson said the 30-year-old former Hear'Say star only appeared on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2006, for which she was reportedly paid £100,000, so she could boost her public profile.

Criticism: Ulrika Jonsson turned up her nose at TV's celeb jungle

In a magazine interview, Jonsson, 41, said: “I know I'm A Celebrity pays well and it's been known to enhance even the most paralysed of careers — ie Myleene Klass — but I don't like the thought of being stuck in the same rainforest as Robert Kilroy-Snake.”

But Jonsson is no stranger to reality TV, having taken part in Comic Relief Does Fame Academy, ITV's Dancing On Ice and Channel 4's Come Dine With Me.

Jonsson spoke to Closer as tensions rose in the jungle camp last night. Timmy Mallet pushed contestants to the limit with a smug victory in the Bush Battle, with Page 3 girl Nicola McLean saying she wanted to “knock him out”.

Duh! EVERY celeb who goes on reality TV is trying to revive their career. Silly woman (Ulrika).

I know who I would prefer to hear about and it isn't Ulrika.

Ulrika, 4 kids by 4 different fathers. Doesn't she have enough to worry about with regards to the logistics of where her kids will be at Christmas as opposed to Myleene Klass's career!!!

What a hypocrite!

I don't think anyone is under any illusion as to why people go on these things, but Ulrika is hardly the example of someone with a classy illustrious career based on talent.

In my opinion, only really, really desperate people make documentaries about their 'sex addition', i.e. loose morals and knicker elastic.

Although she's not the only one to do it to revive a career that really should never have begun, Klass takes the prize for charmless inanity.

Stick to playing the piano.

Dont rate Mylene Klass as a good tv presenter at all, even though she seems to be presenting everything at the moment. Much prefer Christine Bleakley on the One Show and was glad when Klass did not return after her maternity leave!!!

I do not understand why Myleene Klass is on the TV; patronising, fake and has a face that you want to slap.

What a stupid thing to say. The only reason ANYBODY goes on reality shows is to raise their profile and revive flagging careers.

Ulrika Jonsson is a nasty woman. And a rubbish ice skater as well.

Mylene Klass is both clever and has talent and yes, she did use reality television to further her career - but so what?

" Has-been" Ulrika has never had talent and certainly has no intelligence whatsoever!

What a nasty comment. This Ulrika must be jealous, because her career IS over, speriod.

Nope, instead, you go the classy route by getting yourself knocked up by whoever crosses your path, and selling the story that goes with it. Ditto for the marriages. Yep, certainly is classy behaviour. But I guess when you have no natural talent (unlike Myleene's classical music background) you've got to eke out that living somehow.

so an ex weather girl who met one of her husbands through reality TV now has to earn money by giving interviews to gossip mags in which she criticises other minor celebs for how they make money!

um yes that is correct.. surely the same for all those people in the jungle.... can hardly call them celebrities, majority haven't been on our tv's for years. Still a good show though, mainly becuase of Ant and Dec!!!
