Dannii is Xpecting to be an X judge

Updated 12:37pm on 27 Nov 2008

Dannii Minogue has sensationally admitted to pals that she expects to be given the chop from The X Factor.

Out of favour: rumours persist of a row with Simon

The Aussie judge has been telling friends that she is not making any plans for next year as she doesn't know whether she'll be living in the UK or Australia.

Dannii has been dogged by persistent rumours that she has fallen out of favour with Simon Cowell.

And she was pushed to the brink on Saturday when she broke down in tears on the show after a row with Louis Walsh, who claimed she had stolen a song choice from his band JLS (yes, we know it sounds outrageously petty — but that's what reality television is all about).

A source said: “Dannii does not know if she'll be back next year, but isn't holding her breath.
“She is not making any commitments in the UK for next year as she says she doesn't know if she'll still be in the country. If she's not working on The X Factor she will move back to Australia.”

It's been a series to forget for 37-year-old Dannii. Newcomer Cheryl Cole has been a huge hit with viewers, which is said to have led to a breakdown in the close relationship Dannii used to enjoy with Simon.

A few weeks ago, Dannii accused bosses of putting her personality in a poor light by badly editing footage of her when she fell out with contestant Rachel Hylton.

Then, at the National TV Awards at the beginning of the month, she was noticeably absent from a celebratory dinner with the other X Factor judges.

Louis and Cheryl joined Simon for a knees-up after he won a lifetime achievement award.
Simon's pal and former girlfriend Sinitta has said: “Dannii's annoyed because last year Simon was all over her and this year he hardly notices she's there.”

Dannii's cause would be helped if she won this year's competition, but with just one contestant left in Ruth Lorenzo, she could be the first to lose all three singers.

Britney Spears is set to appear on this Saturday's programme — as a performer and mentor for the remaining hopefuls.

Why is she judging a talent show? She isn't even the most talented person in her family. She should be replaced by a bigger name (maybe Kylie?) Seriously, I'd get someone like Cerys Matthews, Shaznay or Charlotte Church into that fourth slot (i.e. people who can show facial expressions as well as belt out a tune).

I think the Cheryl should support Danni more. I really feel sorry for her. I think she is a great judge. Sadly her tears on sat night show that this is not just media hype and I think Louis and Simon should grow up and stop trying to turn the panel into a cat fight!

Not sure how she is a judge in the first place, time for her and her annoying voice and botoxed face to go

I agree with Leelee - couldn't they get rid of the bitchy Louis instead?

She better be staying. Dannii is the best judge on the panel and totally undeserving of the treatment she's been getting. Not many people see how much she works with her acts off stage.
