Claws are out for X Factor Diana

Updated 12:50pm on 2 Dec 2008

It has been annoying Great Britain for weeks now, so it's nice to see The X Factor's Diana Vickers poking fun at her "claw".

Girrrls: Diana Vickers and Alexandra Burke do Diana's trademark "claw" last night

She made light of her habit - stroking the air in front of her face when she sings - with fellow contestant Alexandra Burke at a special gig at the Oxford street Carphone Warehouse last night.

Diana told us: "I find it funny and I laugh it off every time I read critical comments".

Showing support: "boy band" JLS at Carphone Warehouse Oxford St

The girls were joined by fellow finalists JLs and Eoghan Quigg.

Umm Chic,
Alex is very unique in her own way actually, particulary in this years x-factor..
She can dance and is sooooooo entertaining to watch.. her voice is powerful and very very emotional. Leona?? HELL NO!! Can you imagine Leona doing an Alex routine?? Leona was shy on camera and still is if you watch her.
Alex has a great personality too, and a great role-model in confidence and personality.

So in conclusion Alex is unique. Macho!
=)

Alex can sing - but she doesn't have the "x-factor" - there is nothing unique about her - she's just a good singer.

Onelove: Austin didn't mention Alex because he was bitter about being voted off, and he was probably mates with JLS etc. As Sr pointed out JLS are not white are they? and also a certain young lady called Leona Lewis won by a mile 2 years ago, so the public may still vote for Alex. Personally Alex lacks the 'x' factor for me - sure she's pretty and can sing but we've seen the style before a la whitney, Mariah, Mary J and our very own Leona - and do we need another Leona, when she's been there and won the competiton???

um onelove.. what race do you think JLS are exactly?? pretty sure they aren't white.....

race has nothing to do with this contest, wish people would stop playing that card.
Alex is no doubt the best singer and is likely to win becuase of that and that alone.

Eoghan Quigg a better singer than Ruth Joke-Factor. Booted Austin said on BBC Eoghan,JLS or Diana to win ignoring the far superior Talent and clear favourite Alexandra Burke. X-Factor is now R-Factor (Race-Factor). Get civilized people. Vote for talent not skin colour.

She is great, the only one that has something different to offer unlike all the dross in the music business today which sends you into a coma. The Irish kid is rubbish and should have been out way back, its only the tone deaf young girls voting for all the wrong reasons that keep him in!!!

she's rightly a favourite to win, an excellent vocal stylist who can read and interpret a song.

but hey, why does actual technical singing ability matter?

Dolores O'Riordan from the Cranberries should sue her for plagiarism in the worst way possible. Considering her age I wonder if she's even aware of how its been done before. For Simon to say she's "the most relevant artist in the contest" makes me laugh. I used to think his comments were mostly valid but he's showing major ignorance here. I can't beleive he hasn't picked her up for ripping off the Cranberries so shamelessly. Her vocal "gymnastics" are an attempt to hide a very mediocre and boring voice.

Everything about this girl pains me to watch...anoying 'big' hair, the voice (oh so third rate Cranberries), the constant playing of the "I'm only 17" card

I can't wait until she's out.

I can't believe she is still in the competition. She is truly awful, her voice totally grates on me and for once I agreed with Louis on Saturday when he said its been the same every week from her. Yes it's a singing competition but she hasn't really performed once. She just stands or sits in the same place waving her had around. Please get her off this week!!

Thank goodness I am not the only one to have noticed the annoying hand thing!! I can believe she is still in the comp to be honest - she has the most rediculous voice!

The claw...what about the annoying squeak at the end of every note. Sounds like she is trying to be Sinead O'Connor instead of a contemporary atrist with a versatile recording voice... When pushed to sing truly emotional songs, like Everybody Hurts, it is clear she can't quite do it, the squeak returns with a vengeance and she sings so quietly that the music drowns her out. Unique, she is but Leona level...never!!!
