These are the horrific wounds Vinnie Jones suffered when he was glassed during a bar brawl.

Arrested: grainy police pictures of Vinnie Jones after the fight. He faces an assault charge

The hardman footballer-turned-actor may be scarred for life following the fight in the US, sparked by a comment about his role in the X-Men movie.

Jones, 43, was arrested and could be jailed for a year.

Witnesses said an argument flared when the Snatch and Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels star tried to join a game of pool at Wiley's Tavern in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

He was on a pheasant hunting trip near the mid-West town and apparently took offence when a drinker asked if he was "that guy from the X-Men", in which he stars as Juggernaut.

One regular, Juan Barerra, claimed Jones was "visibly drunk" when he asked to join the game. Mr Barerra said: "He got offended by that, and he started pushing my other friends around. He said he's been in so many other movies, or whatever."

During the fight Jones allegedly head-butted Jesse Bickett, 24, and was then hit in the face with a beer glass.

Bar CCTV footage shows the former Wimbledon and Wales defender with blood pouring from his face but still swinging punches at 26st Mr Barerra before being put in a headlock.

Sioux Falls police said Jones was treated at a local hospital on Thursday night and charged with assault. A conviction and jail sentence could jeopardise his Hollywood film work.

Bickett was charged with aggravated assault and suffered a cut hand.

Go Vinnie you big sexy hunk of badness!

What a meat head!

Jones is very lucky he didn't stop a .44 slug there in South Dakota. Expect more than a soccer dust-up in redneck American bars.
