Updated 13:15pm on 15 Dec 2008

Cameron Diaz enjoyed a reunion with Shrek as the green ogre returned in a Broadway musical. Diaz, 36, the voice of Princess Fiona in the films, was in the audience in New York last night for the first night of Shrek The Musical.

Ogre Shrek'd and ogre here? Shrek (Brian D'Arcy James) with Cameron Diaz at last night's show, which may open in London

And the show could be heading for the West End. Jeffrey Katzenberg, chief executive of Dreamworks, which produced both the musical and the films, said of London: "Besides Broadway, it's the most exciting theatre place to be. For Shrek to open on Broadway and then have a West End run is what we're hoping for."
