Fans' fears over 'fragile' Cheryl

Cheryl Cole has sparked fears for her health after looking "emaciated" and emotional.

Causing concern: Cheryl Cole

The Girls Aloud singer and X Factor judge burst into tears several times as she saw her protegée Alexandra Burke win the ITV show.

Revealing gown: Cheryl and Alex

A source said Cheryl, 25, had been putting pressure on herself, worrying about Alex getting through. And, after seeing her ribs through a cutaway Julien Macdonald dress during Saturday's final, fans expressed their concerns on online forums. One, called Azalea, said: "Cheryl looks emaciated!" Another, Joules, wrote: "Her dress was beautiful but she needs to put on a little weight."

Talk about making a story out of nothing!

She looks perfectly healthy and stunning to me. Naturally slim, not skinny.

She's a naturally small woman. She's never going to work it like Beyonce, but it doesn't matter because she's gorgeous as she is.

If she has lost weight it's probably because she's been working hard over the last few weeks, with two acts making it to the late stages of the show.

We all know that Cheryl has lost some wait and i am sure she knows that she needs to put on some weight and build herself back up again, however she is still stunning, and i really do not think that anyone really compares to her. The girl is amazing and has done some real wonders for herself.

I completely agree with size 6 London, I too have a frame similar the Cheryls and am perfectly healthy and lucky to be able to eat whatever I want, whenever I want. People need to realise that calling someone skinnyis just as offensive as calling someone fat! Cheryl is a beautiful woman and sometimes gets photographed at bad angles. If she breathes in and is photographed obviously you will see her ribs!

To someone calling herself "size 6, London" - actually fat people are called "Fat" all the time. By people in the street, by people they know, by doctors, by newspapers.

If I was unwell and losing weight I would want my friends to ask if I was ok.

And since they all care about me, I'm pretty sure they would. In fact they did once when I lost a lot of weight after having my wisdom teeth out and it hurt to eat. It was only after friends commented that I had lost too much weight (I hadn't noticed because I was preoccupied by my mouth hurting) that I went back to the dentist. Turns out I had an infection.

I think it is a shame when people don't take care of each other for fear of being called nosy.

Well, I'm not saying my wife is overweight, but her backside has its own Postcode. I'm so sick & tired of so called BBWs over indulgers) ....gimme a bit of Cheryl any day...far easier for bedroom aerobics (I need a block & tackle for my present Missus)

Oh, for goodness sake. When I saw that frock, I said, “Blimey, you couldn't wear that one if you had a few extra pounds [of weight] to spare." She looked perfectly healthy, even if a bit like a 1970s beauty pageant contestant.

I am sick to death of slender girls being criticised for their size - criticism dressed up as "concern for their health". I suffer insulting remarks on a daily basis. I'm a natural size 6 - I eat a lot - whatever I want, whenever I want, and yes, that includes 2 chocolate bars and cake daily on top of 3 square meals.

Nobody would dream of telling a fat friend they were looking a bit podgy lately and then with a wide eyed "I'm only concerned about your health" expression, enquire if were they sure they were eating properly!

Come on girls, lets be more sensitive and give each other a break. Criticism of appearance of any description, is still criticism!
