Strictly fans turn on 'worst dancer' Tom after vote row

The voting row on Strictly Come Dancing has sparked an online backlash against Tom Chambers.

The Holby City actor got through to the final after Lisa Snowdon and Rachel Stevens tied for top place in the judges' scores last Saturday. Thousands phoned in to save him but their votes were wasted as there was no way for him to escape the dance-off.

Doubts: Chambers could win after Saturday's vote farce

In the end producers put all three in the final, meaning Chambers, 31, could win despite being the worst dancer last week. But Strictly fans have turned on him suggesting he do the "honourable thing" and bow out. On an internet forum, Eleanor Kennedy, from Warwickshire, said: "Tom was the worst dancer. He should be withdrawn." Tom Ransome, from Leeds, said: "Tom might win but his status will always be questioned."

Tom was by far the worst over the past few weeks. We turned off our TV after the final pretty deflated. What is it with this country that we love losers?

Tom should step down.If the BBC had not messed up he was virtually certain to have lost the dance off.How can he and Camilla achieve any satisfaction should they [hopefully not]win on saturday.
It will be extremely unfair on the others.

The BBC via this programme is clearly taking the fee paying, voting public for a ride. Is it time to turn off our television sets and do something more interesting instead or just watch a less corrupt channel?

- Sharon, London

Doesnt the public vote decides who wins this final? So its easy to solve then - whoever the public wants to win wins....think we established a while ago that this is an entertainment programmme - think John Sergent and its who the public like not necessarily who is the best...Rachel should win but if Tom does then its not his fault he is being voted in by the public week after week and given decent marks by the judges. What's the problem??
