Amy Winehouse: has split from husband Blake Fielder-Civil following his release from prison
Amy Winehouse's husband is unlikely to
get the £5m divorce settlement he is said to want because he has been in prison, an expert said.
Blake Fielder-Civil is reported to be battling for half the singer's £10m fortune after seeking a divorce on the grounds of Winehouse's infidelity.
But one divorce lawyer said a spouse's entitlement is linked to what contribution they made to their partner's success — and that Fielder-Civil cannot have been of any support to Winehouse while behind bars.
Anne-Marie Hutchinson, of Dawson Cornwell Solicitors, said: “He will start at 50:50 of all assets acquired during the marriage, before Amy Winehouse starts discounting until they reach an agreement.
“Considering he has been in prison for the last year, during that time [his contribution] was not a lot.”
Fielder-Civil, 26, was sentenced in July last year to 27 months in jail for assault and for perverting the course of justice. He had been on remand since his arrest in November 2007.
He sought a divorce after holiday photos emerged of his wife with Josh Bowman in St Lucia.

James she has done one memorable song and I doubt it will stand the test of time. Big deal. She sings in an American accent and she is English. She is the product of stage school and Blake deserves something as she would not be in the media as much if it was not for him. And the media makes you money in the business she is in.
