New adventure: Jamie Bell

Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell is to play Tintin in a Steven Spielberg film.

Bell, 22, will play opposite Daniel Craig in The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of The Unicorn.

The film, due for release in 2010, will also star Hot Fuzz actor Simon Pegg. It is the first in a planned 3-D motion-capture trilogy conceived by Spielberg and The Lord Of The Rings director Peter Jackson.

Bell, who lives in Chelsea, won a Bafta for his title role in the 2000 film Billy Elliot.
