Devastated Jade told her cancer has spread
Bo Wilson, London LiteUpdated 11:42am on 4 Feb 2009
Jade Goody has been told her cancer has spread and all doctors can do now is give her treatment to prolong her life.
The 27-year-old mother of two young boys sobbed: "I don't want to die," as she was given the news at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea yesterday. The tumours have spread to her liver, bowel and groin. Doctors have not given her a survival percentage. "I am devastated," the Big Brother star was quoted as saying. "I don't want to die because I have so much to live for.

Fighting: Jade after losing her hair to chemotherapy
"I have gone from a 40 per cent chance of a cure to seeing how long I can stay alive. The whole thing is terrifying. To try and remain positive, I am hoping a new type of treatment will suppress and control the cancer, which is very aggressive. I am in a nightmare."
Goody was originally diagnosed with cervical cancer while she was appearing on the Indian version of Big Brother last August.
She lost her hair during bouts of chemotherapy, and last week discharged herself from hospital to join her sons Bobby, five, and four-year-old Freddie at their home in Upshire, Essex.
But she returned to the Royal Marsden after becoming violently ill and collapsing.
Her boyfriend Jack Tweed, 21, was said to be "numb" over the news.

I've never watched a single episode of Big Brother nor do I read glossy magazines - I've only ever seen articles like this in the press - and it seems to me that this poor girl has really been through the mill. Her making, manipulation and breaking epitomise all that was nasty in the Media in the last decade. Any other mum who hears this news will have their heart go out to her and silently be sending her their very best wishes - far greater in number than any who were her detractors.
Stuff everyone else Jade: rest and enjoy your little boys.

Where are all the cruel commentors who left horrible messages on your last Jade story gone? Suddenly realised that Jade has cancer for real and not as a publicity stunt now? Shame on you.
As for Jade, I feel terrible. She is so young and has so much to live for. My heart goes out to her.

I know this sounds trite, missy, but so much of cancer survival is in the mind. I should know--I've had three types and am still going strong and cancer free nearly 30 years after my first diagnosis.
God bless you.

This is just so sad - Jade is such a genuine person. I have followed her progress from her time in the Big Brother House and despite what some of the papers have said it is obvious that she really hasn't a bad bone in her. God Bless you and your family.

Jade, what dreadful news for you - you do have everything to live for and remember that, for it will be your determination that keeps you going.
Spend every moment with your lovely boys...you've been through so much you deserve every minute you can have with them.
Thinking of you, for no-one deserves to suffer what you are going through and as a mum myself I cannot begin to even imagine what you are feeling.
I wish you all the very very best and hope that there is something that can give you the future you need and your sons deserve.

So sad to hear this news. Jade would be the first to admit she's not everyone's cup of tea but how irrelevant this is. No-one deserves to go through something like this, especially someone so young. My thoughts are with you and your family Jade.

I am really saddened by this news. I was one person, who constantly wrote supporting Jade after the Big Brother debacle (although the majority of my letters did not get published, as I was not going with the flow supporting two faced Shetty). [and I doubt if you will print that!!]
I have met Jade, and she is really a lovely down to earth lady. My prayers go out to her.
