Updated 12:44pm on 16 Feb 2009

Jade Goody has exchanged wedding rings with Jack Tweed in an emotional private ritual by the Thames.

Wedding belle: Jade Goody will soon marry Jack Tweed

The couple got engaged on Friday after Goody, 27, was given the devastating news that her cancer is terminal. It is thought the couple will have a proper ceremony as well, but wanted a private moment together. They shopped for their wedding yesterday. Goody chose her wedding dress at Armani and looked in Harrods for page boy outfits for sons Bobby, five, and Freddie, four.

Not everyone's cuppa tea and there have been some criticism that Jade is so public with her final days. My husband thinks she should protect the boys from the media.

I disagree. Get as much out of this as you possibly can for those kids and do things your own way.

Peace.

Surely this should be the one time in even the most celebrity and fame obsessed person's life where they stop pimping their life out to the media andconcentrate on family and privacy. Ther eare better things to leave your children with than money...like dignity.

Jade, your bravery is so touching - I want to cry thinking about what you are facing. You are so young and all that you are doing for your boys shows a courage most of us could not imagine. My thoughts are with you - just remember that we all leave this mortal coil - we will all join you one day. Bless you sweet heart. I ache for you, darling Jade.

Having suffered and overcome cancer myself, the sign of true strength and bravery is fighting the fight in private. She's already admitted what she's doing is to keep her mind off of it, and that's brave?

I know there is saying which goes 'anticipation of death is worse than death itself...' but a wise man knows that its better to be prepared for death. My heart breaks for you but please be strong in the Lord, and make your peace with HIM. We will all die someday, so consider this a blessing that you can prepare, unlike some of us who may die unexpectedly in a car crash, without having time to say goodbye. God be with you!

hi Jade
You dont know me but i feel i have known you for a long time ever since you was in big brother. i have watched all your reality shows and watch you build up your career on tv and have found you very inspirational. This is a very upsetting thing to have happen to someone so young and full of live. i am a single parent with 4 boys, i would not know how i would cope if this was happen too us. you have done so well in your live your boys will be taken care of by loving people and have a finacially secure life. Despite what anyone has said about you i know you are very liked by so many people you have shown me and others that being your self is the best way to be in life. thank you for reading this letter. Steph xxxx

We have watched you go from a girl on BB, to a woman of fame, through relationships and motherhood and two adoringly beautiful boys... to an illness that has no particular target....an illness that can end a life, but cannot extinguish a spirit....and you have a gutsy spirit Jade....and whilst there is life, there is hope... Hugs X
