We would have said that the stars really let their hair down last night - if it wasn't for the fact that Pixie Geldof and Sarah Harding actually put their hair up.

The duo were conspicuous caners last night, closely followed by Sarah's Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts.

The girls had plenty to dance to. The awards, held at Brixton Academy, featured some great performances from the likes of Elbow, The Cure and a special appearance by Blur stars Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon - their first time on stage together for nine years. Damon told us at the afterparty: "It was fun. It's really good to be back with Graham."

There was a bit of controversy over their one-time Brit pop rivals Oasis, who were booed by the crowd when they won best British band.

Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis even stuck the boot in, branding Noel Gallagher's rant over Jay-Z headlining last year as "pathetic", adding: "I helped crack Oasis in 1994."
