Bono may have millions of fans across the world, but he still has trouble impressing his two teenage daughters.

Embarrassing: Bono and his daughter, Jordan, who thinks he's "boring"

The U2 frontman admitted he suffers the same dreaded fate as parents across the country - his children think he's an embarrassing dad.

The 48-year-old has two daughters with wife Alison Hewson, and says they cringed at the music he played at the band's afterparty for their recent tour.

Unimpressed: teenagers Memphis Eve and Jordan

He also said Jordan, 19, and Memphis Eve, 17, feared he would "bore the a**e" off Beyoncé and Jay-Z when they came to stay at the family home in St Tropez.

He said of Jordan: "I went in to get some wine out of the fridge and I heard her talking to her friends, because she loves Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

"And I heard her saying, 'He's probably boring their a***s off talking about Africa'. And actually I think I was at the time. Not boring their a***s off... Actually, I probably was."

Speaking on the Christian O'Connell Breakfast Show on Absolute Radio, he also said: "There was a funny moment on the last tour when there were formal objections by our kids to some of the music that was being played at the aftershow party."

Bono's comments came as U2 found themselves in a row over the publicity the BBC has given their new album, No Line On The Horizon, across its radio and TV stations.

MP Nigel Evans called the coverage "the sort of publicity money can't buy".

A BBC spokesman re pl ied: " We take extreme care in making fair decisions about how we make popular artists accessible."
