Peaches Geldof is more than happy to empty her coffers when it comes to buying the latest fashion “must haves”. Sadly, when it comes to paying for quality healthcare, the 19-year-old socialite appears to be a little more frugal.

By her own admission Peaches, who has been in serious pain with a wisdom tooth, left her pearly whites in the hands of a “backstreet dentist”.

Her troubles arose when she flew to Milan last week for the Dolce & Gabbana party, where she rubbed shoulders with famous guests including Scarlett Johansson.

In a conversation with pals on social networking website Twitter, she said: “Had my wisdom tooth taken out by a backstreet dentist today. In pain.”

Unlike other celebrities — such as Ewan McGregor, who is threatening to sue the website over a fake account set up in his name Peaches's comments come from the genuine article.

A spokesman for the young Geldof confirmed the account's authenticity, adding: “Peaches was in agony, so she managed to track down a dentist for an emergency appointment.

“When she got there she was told that she had to have her tooth removed but it was the same day as the Dolce & Gabbana party.'

Never one to miss out on a high-profile event, Peaches dosed herself up on pain killers to disguise her obvious pain and attended the party.

Our source added: “She felt she had to go as it was the Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, who had invited her.”

Since the announcement of her split from husband Max Drummey, Peaches has been seen out and about with Blake Wood. She was spotted with him in Milan last week for the lavish D&G bash. She has been flitting about the fashion weeks of various countries — last night she was in the front row for the Karl Lagerfeld show in Paris with pal Fifi Brown.
