Why Julia won't go nude like Winslet
Last updated at 12:00pm on 11.03.09Hollywood star Julia Roberts has criticised those who choose to do nude scenes in a film — especially if they have children. The Pretty Woman actress, 41, was speaking at the premiere of her film Duplicity at Leicester Square last night.

No nudity please: Julia Roberts on the red carpet
When asked if she would consider doing a nude scene in a film, she said: “You know it's not really what I do, so if you are going ask me to do it, you have to expect it to be toned down. You know, as a mum of three, I feel like that.”
The original script for Duplicity involved a raunchy sex scene, but Roberts insisted it be toned down.
Whether it was intentional or not, Roberts's comments are a bit of a backhander for Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet, a 33-year-old mother of two.

Football fan: Clive Owen
Winslet famously shed her clothes in The Reader, and her natural breasts became a major talking point in the US — even drawing praise from Oprah Winfrey.
Roberts is well known for her aversion to nuding up for a role. She has been quoted in the past as saying: “I wouldn't do nudity in films. To act with my clothes on is a performance. To act with my clothes off is a documentary.'
And Kate may already be regretting her decision to strip off. In a magazine interview, she said: “I think I won't do it again: A: I can't keep getting away with it. And B: I don't want to become that actress who always gets her kit off'.”
Meanwhile, a fully clothed Clive Owen complained last night that the premiere was at the same time as the Champion's League match between his beloved Liverpool and Real Madrid. There's no pleasing some people.

Maybe she's a little envious of KW's Academy Award.
Or maybe the comment was general and not directed at anyone in particular. She's never done nude scenes after all. It's not as though she's gone all "born again" about them.

It's fine to play a dangerously-idealised version of a prostitute though Julia?
