Disgust at tribute to Jade

Updated 12:38pm on 18 Mar 2009

Jade Goody's family are said to be furious after a magazine prematurely published a tribute to her.

Terminally ill: Jade Goody

A special edition of OK! Magazine appeared in shops yesterday with the title, “The Jade Goody Official Tribute Issue” and the dates “1981-2009” emblazoned across the cover.

The 27-year-old reality TV star is rapidly losing her cancer battle and is not expected to survive to the end of the week.

OK! paid £700,000 for exclusive coverage of Goody's wedding to Jack Tweed earlier this month. But today her friends and family were angry with the magazine for appearing to suggest she had already died. A family friend said: “Jack's mum Mary was very upset. I don't know if Jade's mum Jackiey has seen it. It's wrong, disgusting and totally unacceptable.” OK! had no comment to make.

Strange, then, that the BBC is running quotes from Jade's loved ones in support of this edition of the magazine....
